Green Machine Promotions has successfully been able to negotiate to bring the WBA light heavy weight world champion, German based Croatian Stipe Drews, to Perth to defend his world title.

This will be Green's first attempt at a light heavy weight world title after quickly moving into the top 10 of all major sanctioning bodies since moving up in weight from super middle weight. His current record stands at 27 fights, 24 wins, 22 by knockout and just 3 defeats.

Tough Croatian Drews is 33 fights with 32 wins (13 KO's) and only one loss which was against fellow Australian Paul Briggs. He has never been knocked out and gained the title from Italian Silvio Branco!

Drews puts it all on the line to come to Australia to face the hard hitting Green.

It promises to be an epic battle in which the skillful Drews will try to overcome the power of Green.

Danny Green vs Otis Griffin

The Eliminator
Challenge Stadium, Perth, Wednesday 18 July 2007

Danny Green v Otis Griffin

Green Machine Promotions have pleasure in announcing an IBO world title elimination bout between our own Danny Green and the USA’s Otis Griffin. The bout will also be a defense of Danny’s IBF Pan Pacific and WBA PABA regional titles.

The bout has also be sanctioned for the vacant IBF Intercontinental title so there is plenty at stake.

In what promises to be one of his toughest bouts yet, Green 23-3 (21 KO’s) tackles the highly rated Griffin 18-1-2 (7 KO’s). Griffin was the winner of Oscar de la Hoya’s reality TV boxing series “The Next Great Champ”, rival to Sylvester Stallones, The Contender. He picked US$500,000 for his victory! He is also the current North American Boxing Organization champion.

Green is currently the IBF # 5, WBA # 7, WBC #6, WBO #10 and IBO #14, while Griffin is the WBC # 16, IBF # 15 and WBO #14. The universally recognized electronic boxing ratings website, Boxrec.com has the fight evenly matched with Green at #10 and Griffin at #14.

Green’s move to light heavy weight has proven to be a successful one with wins over fellow Australian’s and world ranked opponents in Jason Delisle and Paul Murdoch over the past 6 months.

This is a fight not to be missed as two of the world’s premier light heavy weight fighters go toe to toe for the opportunity to fight for the IBO world title! Both are devastating punchers with significant experience!

The card will also feature local fighters William Kickett (in an Australian clash with Jumar Julog), Adam and Steve Wills and Robbie Bryant vs Andreas Seran.
